RoboBlog!

Hello!!! On time for the second week in a row! That seems like a good sign right, well, this week I went to watch the reboot of RoboCop! so i'll be reviewing that for you, Arrow is back next week along with originals and TVD. I will preview episode 11 of the Walking Dead, Plus there is more news and rumors about Batman/Superman for you and casting for the fantastic four reboot! it's gonna be a pretty long one so I will make it as entertaining and as colorful as possible. Lets get to it!

RoboCop Review.

Lets start with RoboCop, the trailers and posters make it clear that this film will be set in a time where technology has had huge advances, there are giant robots serving justice on the streets of just about every country but america! because of the fact that people don't want a machine running there lives because "machines don't know what it is like to be human". So the billionaire behind all of the machines, Raymond Sellars, creates RoboCop. And it looks sooo cool! all redesigned and black, thinner and cooler then any other older RoboCop designs. After the police records were input into his brain they had to decrease his human emotion and give the machine more control. Then I saw the one thing I went to see, RoboCop defying protocol and being a total badass. the action scenes were brilliant but BLURRED AT TIMES.

 I really liked how his actions worked frequently and smoothly with his technology, the way he used police records, CCTV and analysed peoples emotions. I liked how he put is own murder investigation as top priority and he found moles within the police department. We really saw the machine take control at some points when he would kill with no hesitation however he managed to slowly override it. The end of the film sees RoboCop reunited with his family and a REALLY ANNOYING speech from Samuel L. Jackson. It sets it up for maybe more films to come. Overall I really liked it and I got what I expected to get so i'll give it a blog of steel rating of 8/10. 

Batman/Superman Update!

Latinoreview.com reports that Warner Bros. could have possibly made a casting call for a black actor in his early 20s who is physically fit. It was also rumored that this actor may have a really small part in Bats/Supes but will recur in more upcoming DC films. Could this be for Cyborg? it sounds like it to me. The rumor was that one of the shortlisted actors was Micheal B. Jordan but he has been cast in a Marvel film which i'll talk about that below so I doubt it! At first I wasn't happy about Cyborg but after watching Justice League war im ok with it. I think that Zack Snyder could do a brilliant job of bringing Cyborg to life.

Fantastic Four reboot Casting.

You may or may not know but Marvel had plans for a fantastic four reboot and it was officially confirmed last week that these plans have been given the go ahead and the four heroes have been cast! personally, I liked the old two and I really didn't fell like it needed a reboot! Also I even said it at the time I really don't think you can have a new actor play Mr Fantastic, Ioan Gruffudd looks like him and played him so well he should've won a comic oscar! (even though they don't exist!). So there are really strong rumors that are almost 98% sure about and one official casting. The official one is Micheal B. Jordan as The human torch. And the rumors are Kate Mara as Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Mr fantastic and Jamie Bell as The Thing. Why are they so young? they don't look like astronauts to me! but I will wait to watch it to make a real decision.

Arrow- time of death preview!

Arrow's 14th episode of it's expectations smashing second season is the return after the too long two week break and I really cant wait for Thursday! The episode features the villain the Clock King who uses his precise timing to get into the heads of the heroes who try to stop him. He always seems to know information on his targets before he attacks them so Arrow needs to be careful! We will see a welcome home party for Sara  and of course Laurel isn't too happy about it and gets even more angry when Oliver shows up. Felicity is feeling left out because of all the superheroes running around so she decides to investigate on her own. We all know how that is gonna turn out! so Arrow will have to save Felicity and save the day. But it just asks the same question again, where is Roy?? click here for the link to the promo!

The Walking Dead - "Claimed" preview 

Episode 11 of the walking dead's fourth season develops on how the separate groups are trying to survive and find each other. At the end of last weeks episode we were introduced to Abraham, Rosita and Eugene, it seems as though this weeks episode will reveal a little more about who they are. From the scene which ended last episode we can see that they all look pretty clean and they have weapons. 

This must mean they have a camp set up somewhere, maybe its the sanctuary at the end of the train tracks that Carol and Tyreese found? The episode will feature more flash backs of Michonne's past and how it starting to effect her now. I really want to see Rick back on his feet again because since Carol was killing people in the prison, he has been sick and beaten and i'm getting kind of sick of it! Hopefully in this episode if Rick is still injured, we will see Michonne's badassery take up most of the screen time. Click here for promo!!!!. The main new character is from the walking dead comics and is known as sgt. Abraham Ford. Who exactly is this guy? wait and see.

Very mystic reviews!

Welcome to the blog of steel! I'm on time this week! I'm proud of myself. Also, i'm up to date on TVD and the originals!!!!! yes! it's gonna be a good week people. We will be having a review of TVD and the originals! And there is a very special and exciting rumor for arrow that is gaining a lot of hype. There are no marvel or DC film or TV updates so no superhero stuff this week ;-( ]let's get into it!

The arrow rumor!

Fans of TVD and arrow listen up, you all know Jeremy, brother of Elena and part time vampire hunter right? well, he is "involved" in a story suggesting that he will be cast in arrow as a character that goes by the name Dick Grayson aka Nightwing. How epic would that be? ill answer for you it'd be the most epic thing in superhero TV in the last 4 years. Now please note that this is just a rumor right now. It has not been officially confirmed.The rumors all started when Steven R Mcqueen (Jeremy) posted a picture on twitter off him doing "Nightwing training" he posted that picture to the arrow writers and producers.

REVIEWS!

The Vampire Diaries season 5 episode 13 - "total eclipse of the heart" Damon went cray cray. that is the only way to explain Damon's actions in this episode. After the break up with Elena, Damon joined forces with his ex cell mate Enzo. they went on a mission to find Dr Wes and kill him to end the augustine vampire program. To do this they needed to find a witch. this meant that they needed Bonnie to help them find a witch. This means that they had to kidnap Jeremy to get Bonnie to help! Katherine spent the episode  trying to get back together with Stephan. This was revealed to be the main reason Katherine stayed in Mystic Falls. Damon and Enzo killed Aaron Whitmore but no one cares about that! Wes revealed that Damon and Enzo will now feed on other vampires. We saw this at the end of the episode. This moment was probably one of the coolest kills on vampire diaries ever! Damon bit the dudes neck and ripped into so much that he could easily RIP HIS HEAD OFF!

The Originals season 1 episode 13 - "crescent city" this episode was like a season finale. IT WAS CRAZY! Elijah got poisoned by Celeste, Klaus got stabbed by the dagger that is supposed to do worse than death, Rebekah got ripped to shreds by loads of werewolves and Haley nearly burned to death when the house went up in flames! Marcel was inquiring about how he could bring Davina back before Klaus snapped his neck in a really cool way. Marcel struggled but was out powered by Klaus, this caused a slow painful neck snap! way too coool! Celeste told Elijah he could only save one. we now don't know where Klaus is, we don't know if Rebekah is ok and we don't know what the all powerful witches are gonna do next! cant wait for the next episode which airs in america on Feb 25th after the week break.

News, previews and a review!

Its the third week of the Blog of steel!!!! sorry its a bit late, again, but I realized that posting every Friday is very hard! so ill try and post it every Sunday now. I think its better this way, to end the week with a sum up of whats happened over the week! well that's the excuse im using anyway! This week im going to review and just air mine and others views on the new Amazing spider-man 2 trailers which have been released before and after the Superbowl! I'm going to  give y'all the heads up on DC's new TV show Gotham and as always im going to review lasts weeks episode of Arrow. I was planning to review the episodes of the originals and TVD but im not up to date with any other show except arrow. sorry! Lets get to it.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailers!

So! the superbowl saw the release of the newest amazing spider-man 2 trailers. The superbowl trailer was around 30 seconds of complete all out madness and action. For those who haven't seen any of the trailers, the link for the coolest trailer is below. but beware its a long trailer which spoils quite a lot. even though im probably going to spoil a lot when I talk about it!

As you can see this film looks freeeeeeeaaaaaaaking awesome! I really like the quote near the start when Peter says "you know what i love about being spider-man?....... everything!" already im excited to see Jamie Foxx as electro I think that he will do a brilliant job and we might see the best spider-man movie villain to date. From amazing spider-man 1, one of my favorite things was the humor, it was a genuinely funny film and Andrew Garfield did a fantastic job of portraying that funny and geeky Peter Parker. And it looks like its more of the same for the sequel! There is a rumor out that Gwen may DIE! Que Mary Jane! but I am completely against this. I prefer Gwen's character over Mary Jane any day. Last but not least a criticism which a lot of people seem to have. That is over the top CGI which makes it look less realistic. this is a issue which will not be solved until the film is released. so we will leave it until then!      

Gotham

Sooooo, you may or may not know that Warner bros. in partnership with Fox are currently developing a TV show called Gotham. This series will revolve around Jim Gordon in his day to day detective work. Now, if you're like me, you will probably say "that sounds really boring" but fear not! the series will also follow a young Bruce Wayne and will show his origin in the background. maybe even an appearance from Dick Grayson in later series. Exciting huh! well, that's not all, it is also said that the series will include the origins of some of the batman's most notorious villains such as the Joker, Two face and the Riddler. We have the new Jim Gordon......... his name? Ben Mcenzie. who's that? I just told you, he's commissioner Gordon! Now, the rumors are that in the pilot episode we will see the origin of the villain Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin. The release date of the series is unknown but the series will air in the 2014-2015 TV season.

Reviews 

Arrow season 2 Episode 1  - ARROW!!!!! my favourite TV show of all tiiiime!. "heir to the demon" is the episode of arrow which aired before the two week break. It featured a very special guest, Katrina Law as Nyssa Al Ghul. Ra's Al Ghul's daughter!! dun dun dunnnn!!!! she played a member of the league of assassins which had come to starling city to collect Sara and take her back to the league! however it was revealed that Sara and Nyssa were lovers back at the league and She wanted to carry on their relationship! You read correctly, Sara and Nyssa were together! the episode saw laurel express her anger toward Sara's return. Can't really blame her. Oliver and Nyssa had a fight which Oliver won, even though I don't think he should have considering she was trained at the league! The episode showed the classic canary cry, which the trailer led us to believe it would be an epic moment. but it really wasn't. it was just a saddening scream. Laurel had a better attempt at the scream at the end of the episode. which I was glad about because attempt #1 was a complete FAIL! the episode didn't really end with a cliff hanger which is strange considering its now on a two week break. It ended with Oliver and Sara getting back together. That's it. This doesn't mean that the league wont come back for Sara again because trust me, we will be seeing Nyssa Al Ghul once again!

News and Reviews!

Welcome to the second week of the Blog of Steel! this week marked some important casting in the upcoming bats/Supes and Arrow! I missed episode 11 of TVD when it came out but i managed to watch it this week so that is the one i'll be reviewing this week. It marked the Vampire Diaries's 100TH episode! and a milestone in the story of Green Arrow. its been a good week! hope you like what you read. lets start with the film and TV updates from this week! 

Film/TV updates!

Lex Luthor and Alfred cast for Batman Vs Superman. Jesse Eisenberg and John Irons have been cast as Lex Luthor and Alfred in the upcoming Batman Vs Superman movie which is currently due for release on May 6th 2016. For me, im not unhappy with this choice. The social Network is one of my favorite films and Eisenberg did an excellent job in that movie. Will he be able to play Lex? I'm not sure but his quick wit and personality which he portrays as Mark Zuckerberg can be closely related to a familiar Lex Luthor (smallville). However with that being said Eisenberg looks very young. And small. So my final verdict is that i think he will do a brilliant job at playing mind games with Cavill (superman) and i think that their opposing personalities will compliment each other. That's great! but I don't think that Eisenberg has the physical presence that is needed when playing superman's most notorious villain. Now, on to Irons as Alfred. I'm very happy with this choice, so much so, that i have no criticisms at all! Irons starred in the TV show the Borgia's where he played the pope! he did an excellent job with this role. His mannerisms and his posture which he demonstrated in the Borgias can  literally be copied over to Bats vs Supes. He isn't Micheal Caine but trust me, he will be a great. they join the building cast of Cavill, Affleck, and Gadot.

Nyssa Al Ghul has been cast in Arrow. Katrina Law has been cast as Ra's Al Ghul's daughter! (sister of Talia) she will appear as a member of the league of Shadows who has come back to starling to "collect" Sara. Katrina Law appeared in Spartacus for a short while where she played a bad ass warrior who was killing more than the main characters were! she already has fighting skills and she knows how to use a bow and arrow. that's a big thing considering she will be on the show called arrow!

Here on the blog of steel I love good TV shows, and im not all about the superheroes. if its good ill watch it! im currently on a catch up of breaking bad, and im keeping up to date with shows like arrow, Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead. this brings us to the next section of this weeks blog! the review section. SPOILER ALERT! this section will contain spoilers so skip this section if you haven't seen this weeks episodes of Arrow and last weeks episode of The vampire diaries.

Reviews

Arrow season 2 episode 12 - "Tremors" was the 12th episode of arrow's explosive second season and it takes some vital steps in explaining the basics of green arrows story. im talking about Roy Harper. Ever since his first appearance in the second half of season 1, fans everywhere have been screaming out for Roy to become Red Arrow. And the wait is so nearly over! ok. lets calm down a bit and start from the start. The episode opens with a fairly gruesome scene where the bronze tiger breaks out of iron heights! We further see drunk laurel and her deterioration. Detective Lance tries to help by taking her to alcoholics anonymous but it wasn't taken to well and laurel stormed off. Showdown time!!! arrow swings in like Tarzan while Roy takes down the bronze tiger but cant control his anger again so he repeatedly punches him. Meanwhile, Arrow realizes that the earthquake machine is in a crate which he cant get to but Roy can. The arrow cant convince Roy to stop but Oliver could. we see one of the biggest moments of season 2 here where the arrow reveals his identity to Roy. I got so happy at this point i nearly screamed! ok i did scream. Roy punched a hole in the crate and saved the day! Roy was then introduced to Diggles and Felicity which is weird as he was supposed to have met Diggles before the season break! this marked Roy's initiation into team arrow! The episode closes with Laurel coming home drunk and falling on the floor, her vision is blurred but she sees Sara, this sets up very nicely for next weeks episode which i will preview early next week. In terms of this second season this was one of my favorite episodes, purely because of the Developments in the foundations of green arrow. It allows for multiple seasons of expansions and milestones in Oliver Queens life.

The Vampire Diaries season 5 episode 11 - "500 years of solitude" saw the return of TVD and the mark of the 100th episode! It starts from after the point where we saw Katherine fall down the stairs of the Salvatore house presumably due to old age problems. Damon and Jeremy are seen drinking to all of Katherine's most notorious moments whilst Katherine is upstairs dying! . This ques the entrance of Nadia where she tells the "gang" that she has buried Matt in the dreaded safe somewhere around the Salvatore estate. this is because she wants Elena and Stephan help her because she has found a way to keep Katherine alive by making her a traveler in someone elses body. Everyone else splits up to find Matt. On Caroline's journey we come across Klaus who has returned to see Katherine die! Klaus and Caroline have their moment that everyone wanted them to have. Damon continuously tortures Katherine mentally making her think at one point that Elijah was there for her but he wasn't. Rebbekah's return shows her freeing Matt from the safe. Elena and Stephan get in an awkward situation when loads of travelers force Elena to put her blood in a bucket. Back at the Salvatore house, everyone is chilling and Bonnie is talking to Vicky and passing on messages to Matt,Jeremy passing on messages from Alaric to Damon. Not forgetting that Jenna also returned in one of Katherine's Hallucinations. It was a nice reunion that also saw the return of Tyler woohoo! :-( Now for the bombshell that closed the episode! Elena went to say she forgives Katherine and because of this Katherine allows Elena to be the one to kill her. But, just as Elena goes to do it Katherine casts the spell which allows her to be a traveler in Elena's body. True Katherine style! causing a jaw dropping moment at the end of the episode which you hate but you know its sooooo cool at the same time!          

And that's all for this week! not bad for a second week huh! my next blog will be early next week previewing that weeks episodes of TVD, Originals and Arrow.
